Rama Narayanan has floated the Producers Association Progressive Front to contest the elections, while Panchu Arunachalam, backed by producers like Radhika Sarath Kumar, Keyar and A M Rathinam, has formed the Democratic Progressive Front.
'Producers enjoyed prime positions a few years ago. But today they don't. We are contesting the polls only to regain our glory and check the dominance of the corporates. Making money is not our concern,' says Panchu Arunachalam.
'Several small-time producers are undergoing untold miseries. The honchos of the association are paying no heed to their woes. We want to bring about a change', he says and adds, 'it is a fight against monopoly.'
Radhika Sarath Kumar is contesting for the post of honorary secretary in Panchu Arunachalam's Democratic Progressive Front.
However, on its part, the Producers Association Progressive Front claims that it's good work in the past couple of years will ensure its success.
Aggressive campaign is on from both sides to woo producers.
