Has the election fever in Tamilnadu, effected the box-office and the fan mania and buzz around new releases? It looks like there will be only two new releases for April 14th, the traditional Tamil New Year Day when normally half-a-dozen films are released.
Tirupati and Thiruttu Payile, as of now are the only films which have booked the theatres, the other two possible releases Azagai Irukirai Bayamai Irukiradhuand Pachakuthirai are still to find buyers in many areas. Added to that the trade themselves are saying not to release new films, as they find that audiences are more interested in election campaign than films.
All fans of leading stars are involved in campaigning for their favourite political party in their areas and have no time for films. It is also far more lucrative to do election work, than put up star hoardings!
