Tirupati is now ready for release on April 14. It is Ajit’s most crucial film and it has to be a hit for his viability as a superstar.
The market rumours is that AVM has sold Tirupati for Rs 10.60 Crore, including all rights. They were able to sell it at high rates thanks to their next film, Rajnikanth’s Shankar directed Sivaji!
A lot of distributors who purchased Tirupati like Madurai Anbu are hoping to get a preference when Sivaji is marketed. Producer P.L.Thenappan has brought Ajit’s next film from its producer and director Bala for Rs 13 Crore on first copy basis!
The moot question here is that if Tirupati a mass masala could fetch only Rs 10.6 Crore with AVM’s backing, can Thenappan sell his Bala film for more? Tirupati has to be a super hit for Ajit’s Godfather also to see the light. So a lot rides on Ajit and his Tirupati.
