‘Dhanush cooks for me at times’-Aishwarya

AISHWARYA acknowledges the support of her husband, in-laws and parents in fulfilling her dreams, “My in-laws are extremely non-demanding, understanding and non-interfering. They are concerned about me like a daughter. For them any decision Dhanush makes with me is fine. I respect them tremendously for their support.”

About Dhanush she adds, “When I first went away on location, I was constantly worried about how things were running at home. But Dhanush actually took care of Yatra and the home, encouraging me all the time to concentrate on my work. Friendship, equality and space are the keywords of our relationship. He even cooks for me sometimes when I come back from shooting!” she recounts.

“He is the best husband anyone can have. If it weren’t for all the family support, I wouldn’t have been able to let my latent talents come to the fore.”

Her parents help tremendously by taking care of Yatra when both she and Dhanush are away. This means that her father gets more time with his grandson. Aishwarya is very happy about this outcome. “Dad missed out on our growing up years since he was busy with so many movies. Now with Yatra at home, he is getting to experience all that he couldn’t experience with us as kids. He now has more time and the mindset to play with Yatra and watch him grow. I am very happy I am able to do this for him. It’s the least I can do for all their support and love.” ....

Rajnikanth is the only superstar: Dhanush

CHENNAI: Tamil film star Dhanush Thursday urged his fans not to call him a 'junior superstar' as the only superstar in the industry was his father-in-law and actor Rajnikanth.

'Do not call me 'Ilaya (junior) superstar' because there is only one and that is my father-in-law Rajnikanth,' Dhanush said on the eve of his 30th birthday.

'I have now begun paying attention to my fans more because I have understood that it is they who convert an average film into a hit,' the actor said after inaugurating a blood donation camp with 200 of his fans.

After a string of flops, Dhanush's career was resurrected with the release of his last film 'Pollathavan' (The terrible one), which was a blockbuster and was also the title of an earlier film starring Rajnikanth made in 1980.

The next venture starring Dhanush also has a name similar to another Rajnikanth hit 'Padikkathavan' (Illiterate) made in 1985.

Starring Vadivelu, Tamanna and Suman, 'Padikkathavan 'is scheduled for release in September 2008.

Dhanush is married to superstar Rajnikanth's elder daughter Aishwarya. ....

'Padikkadhavan' comes up with educated ideas

Gone are the days when permission to film in railway stations and airports was as easy as pie. Due to these crowded places becoming soft targets for terrorists, the authorities are leaving no stone unturned with their security measures. Therefore, obtaining permission to shoot in railway stations and airports has become very hard and troublesome. Even when permissions are granted, filmmakers find it extremely difficult to complete all the shots within the stipulated time.

The makers of the film 'Sathyam' needed an airport to film an action sequence. Airports in India said NO while an airport in Dubai said YES. The crew went over there and canned the shots.

Jeevan was supposed to star in a film titled 'Payannigal Gavanathirkku' and the film was to be shot extensively in railway stations. Since permission did not come their way the film sadly had to be abandoned.

Dhanush's 'Padikkadhavan' needs a railway station to can some 'vital' scenes. Not sure if permission would come their way, the filmmakers decided to erect a railway station set at the Ramoji Rao Film City in Hyderabad. Sources say tremendous effort has been put in to bring about the authentic effort.
A wise decision indeed by the team that bears the name 'Padikkadhavan'. ....
