Mamta - Ajit in ‘Asal’?

Though her recent film ‘Guru En Aalu’ did not make an impact in Kollywood, heroine Mamta Mohandas seems to have hit the jackpot in Kollywood this time. If the buzz going around the Tamil film circles is true then we shall soon see Mamta pairing up with Ajith in Saran’s direction.

Mamta is not only good at acting but has been gifted with a good voice. Her ‘Daddy Mummy...’ song in ‘Villu’ has become a mass favorite. Reports indicate that the girl is receiving more offers for singing that acting.

Only quite a few are as lucky as you are Mamta!

The heroine who is having a steady call sheet from the Malayalam film industry is reported to have revealed that she is doing films in Mollywood because she is not quite happy with the kind of offers that she has been receiving from the Tamil film industry.

But with this film in her kitty, we guess Mamta might want to come back here.

Amidst all this is the news that Mamta is in talks with director Saran, the maker of ‘Asal’, as the second heroine. We know that Ajith and Sameera Reddy have been signed as the lead pair for ‘Asal’. With the entry of Mamta let’s assume that she has been roped in as the second heroine.

We will be back with more interesting stories from the Tamil film industry as they happen! ....

Ajith Vs Vijay at the B.O.?

Kollywood is waiting with bated breaths to see whether 'Thala' Ajith Kumar and 'Ilaiya Thalapathy' Vijay would lock horns at the B.O., this year. Both the superstars, with millions of fans all over south India, are busy with their 49th films--Vijay with 'Vettaikkaran' directed by newcomer Babu Sivan and Ajith with 'Asal' by Saran.

After three consecutive flops--'Azhagiya Thamizh Magan', 'Kuruvi' and 'Villu'--Vijay is badly in need of a blockbuster to retain his superstar status. As for Ajith, his last film, 'Aegan', was an average hit.

The Vijay film is touted to be a racy action flick whereas the Ajith film will be a suspense story. Ajith plays two roles in the film--that of a cop and his lookalike who takes others for a ride. Vijay is happy that this time the load of expectations on his film is lighter. ....

Aegan coming on October 25

Ayngaran International has suddenly decided to postpone Aegan’s release by one day. Earlier, the tentative release dates lay between 24th and 27. But now, October 25, is the date that has been announced.

Insiders say Aegan will definitely go on to become a blockbuster. But, it does not take an insider to know about an Ajith starrer’s grandeur and magnificence. Post-Billa, Ajith mania is on a high; every filmmaker who signs him up will reap the profits,e taking care not to tarnish the image Ajith garnered through his performance in Billa.

Raju Sundaram and cinematographer Arjunan have done a commendable job in Aegan, all the while keeping Ajith’s image in mind. Though this is ace dance choreographer-actor Raju Sundaram's first film as director, he has done a commendable job.

Just like his brother Prabhu Deva, Raju Sundaram too has an excellent sense of humour and a quirky perspective, and he has used these to his advantage in Aegan. Cinematographer Arjunan has worked wonders with his camera. Aegan should surely surpass its original Main Hoon Naa in sheen and glory.

And Nayantara, who sizzled in Billa in Ajith’s arms, has only grown more beautiful now and looks amazing in Aegan. The chemistry between them will surely scorch the screens.

Aegan will rock!

All praise for Ajith

Actor Jayaram is playing an important role in Ajith’s next, 'Aegan'. In the movie, he plays the principal of the college that Ajith comes as a student to. And Nayanthara, plays the role of the college lecturer.

One of the more anticipated movies of the year, 'Aegan' is said for a September release. All in awe of debutant director Raju Sundaram is actor Jayaram. “The detail with which he has characterised all of us is wonderful. He is excellent as a director, and knows to show even the subtlest of expression,” he says.

But the best words are clearly reserved for actor Ajith. “If people say he isn’t interactive on the sets, it means they haven’t understood him well. In an industry where many people make their way with fake smiles and falsehood, Ajith is a clear exception. His smile isn’t plastic, his words aren’t untrue. If he says it, he clearly means it,” says the actor.

Said to be responsible for the funniest portions in the movie, Jayaram says 'Aegan' will have some rib tickling comedy. “The comedy portion has come out great. Sathyan is the other actor to have you in splits in 'Aegan'.” ....
